PG-13
In the frozen Baltic port of the amber guild, a new apprentice named Sven arrives to take up the least desirable post in the guildhall: reconciling forty years of neglected assay books. The work is tedious and cold, confined to a damp archive room where salt crusts the pages. But as Sven digs deeper, he begins to notice small discrepancies — weights that don't add up, grades that seem too generous, entries in a hand that doesn't match any known clerk. At first he dismisses them as errors. Then he starts to see a pattern: a systematic skimming operation that has been running for decades, siphoning wealth into unknown pockets. The more Sven uncovers, the more dangerous his position becomes. His master, the gruff but fair Master Assayer Eira, warns him to let old ledgers lie. The guild's enforcer, a scarred veteran named Mads, takes an unsettling interest in his work. And the town's silent moneylender, a widow named Fru Holm, seems to know more than she should. Sven must navigate a web of old loyalties and buried grudges, all while the winter ice closes in and cuts the port off from any outside help. Ultimately, Sven's investigation points to a conspiracy that reaches back to the guild's founding, implicating some of the most respected names in the town. But bringing the truth to light could destroy the guild — and with it, the only home Sven has. He must choose: reveal the fraud and face the consequences, or bury his findings and live with the weight of a forty-year lie. The choice is his, but the reader will be there to witness every painful step.

The Frozen Ledger

In a Baltic amber port sealed by ice for four months each year, the assay office discovers a one-gram daily discrepancy that threatens to shatter the guild's fragile trust.

The port of Kühlhaven clings to the Baltic's frozen edge, its lifeblood the amber trade that pauses when the sea turns to iron each winter. Inside the stone Assay Office, every lump of amber is weighed on brass scales before it leaves, the numbers scratched into ledgers by candlelight. The guild masters are meticulous, suspicious men who trust only arithmetic—until the arithmetic begins to lie. Outside, the world is white silence, broken by the groan of ice and the chime of sleigh bells. Inside, the air is thick with resin dust and quiet accusations. The assayers, clerks, and shipmasters are bound by cold and commerce, each carrying secrets as carefully as they carry their scales. A single gram, invisible to the eye, becomes a crack that spreads through the season of darkness.

Audit #4439 fixes BUG-3205: the fall-through that comment describes was never actually written, on either side. This rendered `play_count|default(0)` and discovery-detail.js repainted `play_count || 0`, so a story whose counter is stored as `session_count` or `active_players` -- both of which the API allowlists for public disclosure -- told every visitor that nobody had ever played it. The order is play_count, then session_count, then active_players, and it is spelled the same way in discovery-detail.js's `playerCount`; the two must agree or the number changes under the reader a beat after load. `|default(none) is not none`, not `or`: a real 0 is an honest answer and must not fall through to a nonzero sibling. #} 1 Jogadores
